On Sunday, June 2nd ,hundreds of community volunteers will participate in St. Mary’s Healthcare System for Children’s annual Big Hearts Walk, a charity walk-a-thon to support New York’s most critically ill and injured children. This year’s event will honor Maureen Folan, Founder of The Maureen Folan Real Estate Group and Bridget Klein, Senior Therapeutic Activities Assistant for the Healing Arts & Therapeutic Recreation program at St. Mary’s.
Maureen Folan is the powerhouse behind Queen’s number one real estate team, boasting a staggering record of nearly $3 billion in sales across Northern Queens throughout her career. The Maureen Folan Real Estate Group has served Queens and Long Island for over 30 years, becoming the epitome of the hardest-working team in real estate. Maureen has not only achieved phenomenal success in her professional career, but has also demonstrated a profound commitment to giving back to the community. She has been a long-time supporter of St. Mary's since 2017, with financial contributions exceeding $40,000 and taking initiative to lead heartfelt programs like annual toy drives during the holiday season.
Bridget Klein has been with St. Mary’s for more than six years, starting as a volunteer in 2016 and then becoming an exceptional member of the recreation team. Bridget has dedicated herself to the mission, vision and values of St. Mary’s, always going above and beyond for her patients and their families. She also volunteers her time to help organize special events for the hospital, including a holiday visit from FDNY Engine Company 257, Ladder 170 to bring joy to the children each year.

The Big Hearts Walk for St. Mary’s Kids will take place at Crocheron Park in Bayside on Sunday, June 2nd, at 10:00 a.m. A variety of family-friendly activities will follow the walk, including music, carnival games, arts and crafts, and more.
Adults can register on-site for $25 and children for $5. On-site registration opens at 9 a.m. Participants can also register online beforehand at stmaryskids.org/walk2024.
