The reading specialist supports, supplements and extends classroom teaching, and works collaboratively to implement a quality reading program that is research-based and meets the needs of students.
3.WORK WITH A SPECIALIST
For children who are struggling with reading and writing, early intervention is the key. Reading specialists will often incorporate elements from multiple programs in order to tailor an approach that works best for your child. Specialists will assess your child's reading level and develop a plan to focus on fundamentals and getting back to grade level.
4. INDIVIDUALIZED EDUCATION PLANS
If your child is on an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) or 504 Plan, a reading specialist can review the plan to better understand how to help your student. Specialists can use programs that compliment any intervention your child is receiving at school or that has been recommended from an evaluation.
5. PARENTAL SUPPORT
Working with a specialist can help end any struggles over homework and let parents be parents again. Specialists can also share insights on how to best advocate for your child at school. We also work with students with ADHD ,ADD, ODD, & Autism
